Results and Responses to LSPA 2024 Member Survey

The LSPA appreciates that over 250 members took our Member Survey in November and December 2024. While we do not know if the survey findings are representative of LSPA members as a whole, we want to share the results.

As a reminder, the survey covered several topics:

  • LSPA Membership Demographics
  • LSPA Membership Employment Details
  • LSPA Typical Salaries/Benefits
  • Reducing Impediments to LSP Licensure

The survey results are presented here in bar graph form. Click here if you prefer to read a high-level overview. The LSPA Board is working with the dataset to identify more specific takeaways to share in the future; data to correlate include LSP/non-LSP salaries, years’ experience, and part-/full-time LSPs.

The survey also included two open-ended questions; one soliciting suggestions for making the process for becoming an LSP less onerous and intimidating, and another asking for comments or suggestions improving the LSPA as an organization or the overall LSP Program.

With regard to the process for becoming an LSP: On January 16, 2025, the LSPA sent a letter to the LSP Board with suggestions for improvements to the exam application and the exam. Most of these suggestions were drawn from survey comments. The LSP Board has indicated that they will form a committee to consider these in the near future.

Finally, thank you to the survey-takers who provided many helpful suggestions, questions, and comments about the LSPA. The LSPA has compiled a list of frequently asked questions and comments (FAQs). Click here to read the FAQs and LSPA responses.

As always, please don’t hesitate to reach out to LSPA President, Joseph Roman, at [email protected], LSPA Executive Director, Wendy Rundle, at [email protected], or anyone else on the LSPA Board with any questions or comments.
