Membership Meeting Presentation Information 
This presentation will provide an overview of how to evaluate an environmental analytical chemistry data set to determine whether there are any potential limitations in how the data should be used to support project objectives. The principles of laboratory quality assurance / quality control (QA/QC) will be discussed, focusing on how to use QC data included in your laboratory report to evaluate any uncertainties that may exist, and how those uncertainties may relate to the intended use of the data. Although the general concepts described will be applicable to any analytical chemistry data set, the focus will be on laboratory data generated and reviewed in accordance with the MA Compendium of Analytical Methods (CAM) and the MA Representativeness Evaluation / Data Usability Assessment (REDUA) policies.

This session will help LSP’s to evaluate CAM-compliant laboratory data using QA/QC and REDUA principles to ensure data are fit for purpose and defensible under the MCP. It supports sound professional judgment while reducing regulatory risk, uncertainty, and costly project delays.
