Course Program Information

This course will highlight the major revisions to MassDEP’s Activity and Use Limitation (AUL) Guidance since the publication of the 2014 public review draft, as reflected in the 2025 final guidance. Rather than providing a comprehensive review of all AUL requirements, this session will focus on key clarifications and updates that affect how AULs are drafted, implemented, and maintained under the Massachusetts Contingency Plan.

The training will also include dedicated segments on practical audit tips and case studies, drawing on MassDEP audit experience to illustrate common compliance issues and recurring problem areas. This portion of the training will translate guidance procedures into practical application, helping LSPs understand how and why AULs may fail to meet regulatory expectations in practice.
