This course has been submitted for 4.0 non-DEP Regulatory credits and 4.0 DEP Regulatory credits (#1164A). Registration will begin at 7:30 AM; the course will begin at 8:00 AM and end at 5:00 PM. This course will be held rain or shine. Lunch and refreshments will be served.

Important Registration Information
Due to limited seating and as a courtesy to LSPs needing DEP credit, we respectfully request that non-LSPs defer their registration on this course. If there are still available seats after the registration periods, we will send another announcement with that information.

Please note the following changes from typical MassDEP/LSPA registration protocol:

  • To be fair to all, there will be no registration transfers allowed. If you are unable to attend, the LSPA will issue you a refund less the cancellation fee. Any open seats will be offered to the next person on the wait list.
  • There will be no registration email sent so mark your calendars now. In the past, we have sent an email when registration opens. Given the popularity of this course and the limited seats, we expect registration to go very quickly. Please visit www.lspa.org as soon as registration is open.
  • Wait lists for each session will be independent of one another and capped at 50 people. Each session will be treated as a separate course. For example, if you are on the wait list for session one, it has no impact on your registration for session two (or the wait list for session two). To be added to the wait list, please email [email protected].
  • Given the nature of this course, there will be no option for simulcast or future on-demand course. 

Course Description: 
This course is designed to inform LSPs about their obligations under state, local, and federal wetlands protection regulatory programs, with an emphasis on the Massachusetts Wetlands Protection Regulations at 310 CMR 10.00. It will provide an overview of the regulations and detailed presentations on wetland vegetation, soils, hydrology, and chemistry. The course consists of a morning lecture component, with multiple afternoon field stations. Course instructors include MassDEP Wetlands Program staff, an environmental attorney, and credentialed practitioners with expertise in wetland identification, evaluation and permitting. The majority of this course will take place indoors and the LSPA is mask friendly. Please refrain from attending if you have Covid-related symptoms, have received a positive result from a recent Covid test, or been in close contact with someone diagnosed with Covid in the past 14 days. If you need to cancel for Covid-related reasons, please contact the LSPA.
