This course was originally presented at the LSPA's September 14, 2022 Membership Meeting. Acting Assistant Commissioner Callahan and Acting Deputy Commissioner Locke identify and discuss key initiatives that will be the focus of MassDEP and Bureau of Waste Site Cleanup (BWSC) actions in the coming year. In particular, the relationship between MassDEP-wide initiatives and BWSC-specific activities, regulations and guidance are discussed, including climate change and Per- and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances (PFAS). This presentation updates the LSP community on the status of budget, hiring/staffing, personnel changes and office migration and the effect these changes will have on BWSC operations in the upcoming year. Finally, the annual exploration of BWSC-related measures of success is unveiled. Registration Process:
