LSPA Continuing Education WebinarEngineering Soil Classification using Laboratory Test Results
When: Thursday, August 5, 2021 This course has been approved for 4.0 LSP "non-DEP"/Technical continuing education credits (#1746) and 4.0 CT LEP credits (CTLEP-545W). This is a new course. To ensure you receive continuing education credit for your attendance in this webinar, please read the LSPA's guidelines here. Webinar Description:
This course will provide an introduction to soil classification as a basis for its use in the assessment and remediation of oil and hazardous materials. Soil is a complex mixture of minerals, organic material, water, and various lifeforms. Classifying soil provides valuable information to LSPs and other practitioners about how and where contamination has already, or may in the future, move throughout an area. Because this course is being held virtually, it will address soil classification using laboratory results, as opposed to hands-on field classification. Throughout the course, the instructor will connect soil classification topics with their implications for the waste site cleanup process and address questions. While it is not a course requirement, participants can purchase geotechnical gauge and sand gauge card charts, if they wish. To view course outline, click here.
