LSPA Continuing Education SeminarFundamentals of Environmental Sequence Stratigraphy (ESS) for CSMs and Remedial StrategiesWhen: Tuesday, May 11, 2021 This course has been approved by the LSP Board of Registration for 2.0 Technical LSP credits (#1729). This course has also been submitted to CT for 2.0 LEP credits and to NY for 2.0 PDH credits. To ensure you receive continuing education credit for your attendance in this webinar, please read the LSPA's guidelines here. Webinar Description:
Sequence stratigraphy has arguably revolutionized stratigraphic analysis in the oil and gas industry since the 1970s, but to date, few environmental companies have utilized this power tool. Although many companies have intended on using sequence stratigraphic correlation techniques to define the subsurface heterogeneity, they have mistakenly used lithostratigraphy, significantly limiting their ability to construct accurate conceptual site models (CSMs) and develop effective remedial strategies. This course will leverage case studies to make participants aware of the pitfalls of lithostratigraphy and highlight the role of sequence stratigraphy in generating robust and realistic hydrogeological models.
