This presentation will provide LSPs with practical takeaways and lessons learned from MassDEP’s Bureau of Waste Site Cleanup (BWSC) Notices of Audit Findings (NOAFs). The LSPA’s Loss Prevention Committee reviews these NOAFs annually to provide insight into and better understand what has caused a disposal site to be out of compliance and what actions BWSC has determined need to be taken to return to compliance. Understanding common mistakes helps LSPs pro-actively develop more thorough and defensible assessment, remediation, and documentation activities and remain in compliance with the MCP.

The webinar will focus on key takeaways from FY 20 NOAF reviews in the following categories, with presenters who are all members of the LSPA’s Loss Prevention Committee (LPC):
  • Historic Fill, by Larry McTiernan, LSP, Roux Associates
  • RAPs/ROS/MNA, by Andy Irwin, LSP, IRWIN Engineers
  • Nature & Extent, by Philip Clark, LSP, HCS Civil & Environmental Engineering

There will be time set aside at the end of the webinar for Q & A, moderated by Michelle O’Brien, Partner at the law firm Pierce Atwood and an LPC member.
