The LSPA celebrated its 25th anniversary in style on October 25th at Mechanics Hall in Worcester. The only thing better than the gorgeous, historical venue was the fact that 350 LSPA members and friends were in attendance. It was a great night: food, drink, 17 Past LSPA Presidents in attendance, three Contribution to the Practice awards, and that doesn’t even include the evening’s entertainment.
We were excited to hear Worcester Polytechnic Institute’s a cappella group, the Audiophiles, perform. What a talented group of future engineers and techies!
What kind of stories are told at slams? Personal narratives, tales from real life and YOUR personal experience. Think about a situation with a client, a regulator, a colleague, how you ended up working in this field, an internship, a training experience, getting lost on the job, mistakes you made, a mystery you encountered on site, a project you did/didn't get. You get the idea; almost anything goes.
Here are a few FAQs for the LSPA's STORY SLAM, along with some Storytelling Tips.

It was a wonderful night and great to see so many LSPA members, clients, and friends. The LSPA received impressive sponsorship support, presented a thought-provoking speaker, and the LSP Association Scholarship Fund was the recipient of generous donations through its silent auction.
