LSPA Western MA Committee Event: Movie Screening, "The Devil We Know"

On Thursday, November 18, 2021 at 7 PM, the Western Mass. Committee of the LSP Association (LSPA) will screen the film The Devil We Know at the Westfield Woman’s Club, 28 Court Street, Westfield, MA. This is a free event and all are invited.  Please reserve your seat here so that we can properly plan for the evening.

The Devil We Know is a 2018 investigative documentary film about Parkersburg, West Virginia where the DuPont facility that manufactured Teflon was located, and the discovery that perfluorooctanoic acid (also known as PFOA) contamination was harming residents. It follows the personal stories and tribulations of several people who worked at the facility. The film includes footage of public hearings, news reports and corporate ads, along with input from scientists and activists.  

The film, which is 1 hour and 35 minutes long, premiered at the 2018 Sundance Festival. Variety called it a “riveting tale of long-term irresponsibility and injustice.” For more info on the movie, check out www.thedevilweknow.com.
