This presentation has been approved by the LSP Board of Registration for 1.5 Technical LSP Credits. 

Presentation Description:
It is important for LSPs and other environmental professionals to understand how to read and interpret data and lab narratives, at least enough to make sure they are getting the basics right and can conduct REDUAs on “everyday” projects. 

The first portion of the presentation will cover the following outline: 

  1. Introduction
  2. CAM & Data Usability
  3. Basics of Organic & Metals environmental analyses
  4. Data quality indicators: PARCCS 
  5. Data Review process - indicators for accuracy, precision, representativeness, sensitivity; what QC to review (HT, surrogates, LCS, MS/MSD, Blanks, FD) using real examples
  6. Summary of Critical Data issues for usability

The remaining time will be shared between hands-on practice using test data sets and a Q & A session.  Participants will work in groups of 2 or 3 to perform Data Usability Assessments.  The test data set package, consisting of EPH and Metals data, will be provided by the presenters.  It is expected that questions will naturally arise during the hands-on portion and that the groups will review the test data set together.  Following this, the presenters will continue with more general Q & A. Attendees will be encouraged to bring their QA/QC questions to the meeting to be reviewed as part of the Q & A session.
