LSPA Emerging Professionals Event: Soil ClassificationDate: Tuesday, November 29, 2022 What's the difference between a fine sand and a silt? Why do I need blow counts? What is the modified Burmister System? Join the LSPA Emerging Professionals and Tighe & Bond on Tuesday November 29, 2022, as we invite you to participate in a hands-on educational experience and Q & A on the how-to’s of soil classification. Michael Trovato, a Project Environmental Scientist at Tighe & Bond, will be presenting a hands-on training on soil classification, including the modified Burmister system and other methods to classify soils. This is a great introduction for those new to the field and a great refresher for those who have been conducting soil classification for several years. As part of the program, you'll get to try your hand at classifying different soil types and will then compare your visual/hand classification to actual lab results. Schedule: Light food and drink will be available. As always, students are welcome to attend LSPA events for free, please contact LSPA Emerging Professionals Committee Co-Chairs, Ally Suding and Tori Ward, for a student code. Thank you! Event is full. Registration has closed. COVID Guidelines:
