Course Description:
The possibility of vapor intrusion is a common concern at MCP sites; detection, gathering data, assessment, monitoring, and mitigation are all aspects of the work of waste site cleanup practitioners. This course will provide an overview of three technologies from three different companies for gathering vapor data; address the designs, applications, and appropriate conditions for best use of each technology; and share case studies.

The technologies to be presented are:

  • Passive Adsorbent Devices:  Passive Adsorbent Devices are engineered adsorbents designed for the detection of volatile and semi-volatile gases. Passive adsorbents are ideally suited for time-integrated, in-situ applications where there is a need for detecting very low levels of compounds that might otherwise go undetected. Amplified Geochemical Imaging LLC (agisurveys.net)
  • Vapor Pin®: Vapor Pin allows practitioners to cost-effectively gather high resolution active soil gas data sets and passive soil gas sets. Recent enhancements allow it to connect to a wide variety of vapor screening instruments, evacuated canisters, bottle vacs, absorbent tubes, manometers, portables GC/MSs, and other sensors.
  • VaporSafe®: VaporSafe service consists of laboratory grade analytical systems combined with sensors and automated real-time Cloud reporting, alerting and response capabilities. Data patterns from automated continuous vapor intrusion monitoring allows practitioners to rapidly resolve key questions and design remedies.

Each group of speakers will present for about 35 minutes each, followed by a 20-minute panel Q&A session. The webinar will be moderated by a member of the LSPA’s Education Committee.
